Springtime in Copenhagen

Copenhagen welcomes the spring with open-air food markets and parkland fun. In April this year, Copenhagen Zoo also becomes one of only five zoos in Europe with giant Chinese pandas. And don’t forget to explore the city’s many green and leafy neighbourhoods the Danish way – on a bike!

Copenhageners love sun-kissed days. With fair weather, parks and open-air food markets spring to life. Tivoli Gardens open on 4 April 2019 for the summer season with rides, restaurants and family entertainment. And on 12 April, the world’s oldest pleasure park, Bakken, opens for the season – a great chance to go for a ride in a horse-drawn carriage in the UNESCO heritage oak woods and spend the day with family fun. The Japanese Sakura Festival is also celebrated under the blossoming cherry trees by the city’s harbourfront (27-28 April).
