Copenhagen Contemporary

Have Grown Taller from Standing with Trees

29 September 2019 – 13 April 2020

The Copenhagen Contemporary (CC) art centre has opened at a new location in the city’s former shipyard, neighbouring the new Reffen street food market. The 7,000m2 centre is dedicated to art installations. During the autumn, CC presents a major solo exhibition by Carsten Höller, a German-Belgian artist renowned for incorporating elements from playgrounds, zoos and amusement parks into his installation ark, often juxtaposing them with scientific investigations and experiments. DAC – The Danish Architecture Center

BIG FORMGIVNING

12 June – 20 October 2019

Housed in the new urban design center BLOX by the city’s harbourfront, the Danish Architecture Center opens an exhibition about the visions and projects of one of Denmark’s most famous architecture studios, BIG. Opening hours: Mon-Sun 10:00-18:00 and Thu 10:00-21:00. Info here.
 

Louisiana Museum of Modern Art

Tatiana Bilbao

18 October 2019 – 2 February 2020

Mexican architect Tatiana Bilbao explores her home country's heritage and building traditions. The landscape plays a crucial role in her work. Opening hours: Tue-Fri 11:00-22:00, Sat-Sun 11:00-18:00. ARKEN Museum of Modern Art

Beloved by Picasso – The Power of the Model

12 October 2019 – 23 February 2020

ARKEN presents a wide and dazzling array of Pablo Picasso’s best works in the upcoming exhibition created in close collaboration with Musée national Picasso-Paris. The exhibition sheds light on the women in and behind Picasso’s art. Opening hours: Tue-Sun 10:00-17:00, Wed 10:00-21:00. Take S-train (Route E in the direction of Køge or Route A in the direction of Solrød Strand) and alight at Ishøj Station and take bus 128 to the museum – or bring a bike on the train. Admission. Leonard Cohen: A Crack in Everything

Kunstforeningen Gl Strand and Nikolaj Kunsthal jointly host an exhibition inspired by the life and work of Leonard Cohen. some 40 international contemporary artists and musicians interpret Leonard Cohen’s life and work in a comprehensive exhibition.
