Copenhagen Contemporary

Have Grown Taller from Standing with Trees

8 February – 1 September 2019

The contemporary art centre has opened at a new location in the city’s former shipyard, neighbouring the new Reffen street food market. The 7,000m2 centre is dedicated to art installations. Current exhibition by Claudia Comte, who has created an immersive installation combining sculpture, sound and 3D prototyping drawing on the artist’s interest in archaeology, biodiversity and forestry. Pipilotti Rist

A blast full of colours, immersive images and sensuous dreamscapes. Works by one of visual art’s most conspicuous researchers of the senses in moving pictures, Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist.
Opening hours: Tue-Fri 11:00-22:00, Sat-Sun 11:00-18:00. National holidays 11:00-18:00. Mondays closed. Take a regional train to Humlebæk and change to bus 388. Admission. Info here.

Patricia Piccinini – A World of Love

9 February – 8 September 2019

ARKEN presents a vast, sensual exhibition featuring Patricia Piccinini’s wondrous universe – full of tales of realistic fabulous creatures, animal machines and mutated human beings. Opening hours: Tue-Sun 10:00-17:00, Wed 10:00-21:00. Take S-train (Route E in the direction of Køge or Route A in the direction of Solrød Strand) and alight at Ishøj Station and take bus 128 to the museum – or bring a bike on the train. Admission. Fashioned from Nature explores the fabric of fashion and highlights fashion’s dependence on the riches of nature by presenting beautiful dresses from the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), London, alongside fascinating specimens from the extensive scientific collections.
